We had a server crash.
One of our servers crashed over the weekend.
If you have already paid for PadCAD or upgraded PadCAD lite and find that the app is asking you to upgrade once more, please forward us your user ID so we can reset your account. Do NOT reinstall the app as this will delete your existing account.
Your user ID can be located toward the top left corner of the preferences panel.
Click the gear icon to see your preferences panel.
Thanks for your patience,
Meher G

You only need to upgrade PadCAD Lite once
Recently a few users have complained that PadCAD lite asks them to upgrade after they have already paid for an upgrade. This can be frustrating but fortunately there is a easy solution. PadCAD needs to connect with our servers when you first launch to check and see if it is unlocked. Therefore you need to have an internet connection when you first launch.
To fix this issue, all you have to do is this:
1) Launch PadCAD
2) Press the home button to exit PadCAD, then double click the home button to raise the screen and reveal all your apps in memory
3) MAKE SURE THE SCREEN IS RAISED AND ALL THE NORMAL ICONS ON THE SCREEN ARE GHOSTED AND THE ONLY ICONS YOU SEE ARE TOWARD THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN, OTHERWISE YOU MAY END UP DELETING PADCAD FROM YOUR IPAD
4) Press and hold the PadCAD icon located toward the bottom of the screen until it starts to shake
5) Press the red button toward the top left corner of the icon to reset it
6) Re-launch PadCAD and see if your problem persists
7) PadCAD connects with our servers on startup to check and see if you've upgraded your account. If so, your app is unlocked
This is an issue that will be addressed in the next version of PadCAD.
Thanks for your patience.

Web version updated
The web version of PadCAD has been updated. It's now identical to the iPad version of 1.8.4. This brings into parity all the versions of PadCAD, including the desktop versions, the iPad versions and the Android versions.

Desktop versions of PadCAD now available
Both the PC and the Mac versions of PadCAD are now ready for download. As with the tablet versions, they are free to use and evaluate but if you wish to save or export your drawings, you must upgrade the app. A fee of $17.99 will apply for an upgrade.

Where is my drawing?!?!
A general complaint we've been getting here at Plugworks lately is that an exported PadCAD drawing never arrives at the users email account. In general, we've noticed that the drawings that were exported sometimes seem to end up in a user's spam folder for some reason. So, if you export a PadCAD drawing but it never gets to your email account, check your spam folder, it might just be there!
PadCAD vs PadCAD Lite
There seems to be a bit of confusion out there as to the difference between PadCAD and PadCAD Lite. Basically, PadCAD Lite is meant to be an evaluation app. It is functionally identical to PadCAD, but it's free. The only difference is that PadCAD Lite does not export or save your drawings, otherwise it's identical to PadCAD.
Once a user evaluates PadCAD Lite and decides she likes the app, she can either upgrade through the app or buy it directly through Apple's app store.
